Hyundai wanted to introduce the all-new Genesis to its CRM customers in an engaging and unexpected way. It was critical the quality of the activation matched that of the luxury sedan’s impressive new styling and technology.

 

As the digital producer, I managed a small design and technology team that developed an augmented reality app that paired with a companion printed DM poster and landing page that incorporated the same visual trigger. By placing the app over the poster or landing page (which featured an empty cityscape background image), a 3D car was activated into the scene on the screen. Users could tour the exterior of the car in all available colors, swipe through other bonus background environments, and access additional content.

The app surpassed success metrics in both downloads and time spent, and was the 2015 IAC Best Mobile Application winner.
